Down the Rabbit Hole
For a special 5th birthday, we stepped through the looking glass to create a whimsical Alice in Wonderland celebration inspired by a blend of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and the Queen of Hearts’ rose garden.
The celebration unfolded across two locations, an intimate, styled tablescape at home and a high-energy ice skating rink party, each with very different needs. At the home, we leaned into elevated, reusable elements: floral arrangements in rich reds, blushes, and creams, glass teapots, layered runners, candles, and playful details pulled straight from Wonderland. The result was a storybook-worthy setting designed to feel magical, cohesive, and timeless.
The second challenge was translating that same aesthetic into an ice rink party room for 30+ kids, where setup needed to be quick, durable, and largely disposable. We carried the theme through with bold graphics, custom signage, themed tableware, and playful paper details that held up to pizza, ice cream, and lots of excitement, without losing the charm.
From the custom invitation and welcome signage to the final favors, the branding flowed seamlessly throughout. Guests were sent home with themed keepsakes: “looking glass” mirrors for the girls, candy bags for the boys, and custom tags that tied the entire story together.
This celebration was the perfect example of how thoughtful design can adapt across spaces, balancing beauty and practicality, while keeping the magic intact from start to finish.
